Wind chill readings are expected to drop to between 12 below and 18 below zero Monday night into Tuesday morning in all of northern Indiana and northwest Ohio.
The National Weather Service in northern Indiana issued the advisory, in effect from 8 p.m. tonight until 11 a.m. Tuesday.
It said that prolonged exposure might lead to frostbite on exposed skin. If you must go outdoors, wear a hat and gloves.
The following counties are in the wind chill advisory area:
- Indiana – Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, Whitley, La Lorte, St. Joseph, Elkhart, Starke, Pulaski, Marshall, Fulton, White, Cass, Miami, Grant, Blackford and Jay.
- Ohio – Williams, Fulton, Defiance, Henry, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Allen.
