FORT WAYNE – High winds and low temperatures have produced a thin, smooth ice cover on both Lakeside and Ivan Lebamoff Reservoir Park ponds, but officials at the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department warn that the ice isnt thick enough for safe activity.
The weather forecast calls for continued cold temperatures for the next few days, and it is hoped that the ponds will be safe for skating by the end of the week.
More information will be available as conditions change.
While the ponds remain unsafe for skating, red lights and flags will be displayed at the sites.
