Another Fort Wayne man is in federal custody in connection with the February robbery of a PNC bank branch, which occurred about eight weeks after he was released from prison.A man initially charged with dealing Ecstasy will have that count dropped in return for pleading guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Russell Cowherd, 32, accepted the plea agreement in U.S. District Court on Tuesday, according to court documents. While he faces a maximum of 10 years in prison, the plea agreement calls for him to receive 70 months instead, according to court documents.
Cowherd and 22-year-old Michael Banks were indicted last year on one count of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance known as Ecstasy as well as being a felon in possession of a firearm.
This month, Banks accepted a plea deal giving him a 50-month sentence for being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to court records.
