Traffic stop yields heroin, arrest of 2

Fort Wayne police arrested three people on drug-related and other charges in two separate cases this week.

On Tuesday, officers made a traffic stop at Tennessee Avenue and Tecumseh Street and found 8.3 grams of heroin in a vehicle driven by Latasha Renee Sykes of the 2900 block of Knode Court. During the stop, Keith JaJuan Cooper, a passenger, was recognized as a man arrested Jan. 18 on charges of dealing heroin and heroin possession, police said.

Early Wednesday, police searched an apartment at 844 Ridgewood Drive in connection with the case and found evidence of the distribution of heroin, police said.

Cooper, 34, of the 1600 block of Rudisill Boulevard, and Sykes, 30, were both arrested on charges of heroin possession and dealing heroin. They were each being held at the Allen County Jail without bail.

In the other case, police searched a home at 2814 Radcliffe Drive on Thursday and found two adults and one juvenile inside, police said.

Holly Nichole Cosme, 27, who lives at the Radcliffe address, was arrested on charges of marijuana possession, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of paraphernalia and three counts of dealing marijuana.

Cosme was released on her own recognizance from the jail.
