On Friday, the Komets finalized the signing of forward Matt Syroczynski, 29, who retired after being selected as the IHLs playoff MVP with Fort Wayne in 2010.
He has played only one game since – with Florida of the ECHL this month – and its expected to be a couple of weeks before he gets in the lineup.
This will be his third stint with the Komets (22-19-2), who play tonight at Evansville (16-23-4).

Ex-IU starter faces charges in shooting
Former Indiana starter Devan Dumes has been accused of opening fire at an Indianapolis home while his brother and 1-year-old nephew were inside. Dumes, 26, appeared in Marion County Court on charges of criminal recklessness and carrying a handgun without a license. A police affidavit said Dumes allegedly fired a handgun at a house after arguing with his brother, who was inside with his son visiting the childs mother. His trial is set for March 27.
Former Mavs guard sent to D-League
Delonte West was acquired by the D-league affiliate for Dallas, and Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said West would not play with the Mavs again.

Amnesty offered for confessions
The UCI agreed to introduce a truth and reconciliation commission with the World Anti-Doping Agency to offer cyclists a chance to confess to past doping offenses without fear of retribution. Tim Herman, Lance Armstrongs attorney, said the cyclist intends to appear before the commission instead of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency.
