Victim of South Hanna shooting identified

A Fort Wayne man has been identified as the victim of a Sunday night shooting in the 2500 block of South Hanna Street, the Allen County Coroner's Office said today.

Jeremy Dewayne Crews, 25, died from a gunshot wound or wounds, and is the third homicide victim in Fort Wayne and Allen County this year, the coroner's office said in a statement.

City police were called at 7:48 p.m. to a call reporting shots fired. They said they found Crews outside with multiple gunshot wounds, and took him to a hospital, where he later died.

The homicide remains under investigation by city police, the coroner's office and the county prosecutor's office.
