Barbra Streisand will perform at the Oscars on Feb. 24, the first time shes performed during an Academy Awards broadcast in 36 years.
Streisand won the Academy Award for best original song for Evergreen in 1977. She also sang the theme from A Star Is Born that night.
She won the Oscar for best actress for 1968s Funny Girl.
Timberlake to croon at Grammy Awards
Justin Timberlake will be rocking that suit and tie at the Grammy Awards.
The Recording Academy announced Wednesday that Timberlake will perform at the Feb. 10 awards show in Los Angeles.
The 32-year-old pop star returned to music this month when he released the single, Suit & Tie.
His performance at the Grammys will be Timberlakes first musical appearance on television in years.
‘Met Your Mother’ gets final season
After months of rumored negotiations, CBS has renewed How I Met Your Mother for a ninth and final season during which the titular wife of the narrator will be revealed, the network said in a news release Wednesday.
All five regular cast members will return for the 2013-14 season. No number of episodes has been announced.
Warner Bros. plans ‘Entourage’ movie
Vincent Chase and his entourage are jumping from the small screen to the big screen.
Warner Bros. confirmed Wednesday that a film version of HBOs hit series Entourage is in the works.
Series creator Doug Ellin is writing and directing the film, which does not yet have a production start date or release date. The studio also has not finalized the cast.
Entourage ran for eight seasons and followed the Hollywood exploits of hot young actor Vince (Adrian Grenier) and his inner circle, including Kevin Connolly as his manager, Kevin Dillon as his half brother, Jerry Ferrara as an old neighborhood friend and Jeremy Piven as his slick super-agent.
Oscar statue taking trip across America
Oscar is going on a road trip.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences says one of the golden statuettes that are handed out at the Academy Awards will visit at least 10 cities as part of Oscars first national tour.
Beginning Monday in New York City, the golden guys journey will be chronicled online. Fans can follow the Oscar statues progress and even make suggestions for stops along the way.
The statuette will make appearances in Philadelphia; Washington, D.C.; Baltimore; Chicago; St. Louis; Kansas City, Mo.; Houston; Dallas; and Phoenix. Fans in those cities will have a chance to pose for photos with the Oscar trophy.
