A break in the game

CBS’ Super Bowl coverage begins at 11 a.m. Sunday and runs through the end of the game, which is scheduled to be (but unlikely to be) over at 10 p.m. A new episode of the CBS series “Elementary” follows the game … whenever it ends.

If you need a break, or just don’t give two tosses of a pigskin about sports coverage, here are some other things you can catch Sunday:

“Law & Order,” 4 a.m. through Monday morning on TNT – The marathon includes 26 episodes from throughout the run of the longtime series.

“NCIS,” 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on USA – Thirteen classic episodes of the Mark Harmon series.

“Say Yes to the Dress,” noon to 4 p.m. on TLC – Eight episodes of brides finding “the one” … and we don’t mean the right man.

“Snapped,” 12:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Oxygen – True crimes featuring felons (usually women) attempting or committing murder (usually of their partners).

“The Golden Girls,” 12:30 p.m. through Monday morning on WEtv – Travel down the road and back again with Rose, Blanche, Dorothy and the ever-witty Sophia.

“Oprah’s Next Chapter,” 2 p.m. to midnight on OWN – Interviews include Stephen Colbert (2 p.m.), the Kardashians (4 p.m.) and LL Cool J (10 p.m.).

“Puppy Bowl IX,” 3 p.m. through the night on Animal Planet – The ninth installment of the annual tradition has puppies “playing” football. Repeats every two hours through the night.

“Star Trek: The Next Generation,” 4 p.m. to midnight on BBC America – Capt. Picard and the crew of the Enterprise are visited by the Borg, Romulans and even the original series’ Montgomery Scott in the marathon.

Alaska: The Last Frontier,” 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Discovery – A family endures in a remote area of Alaska.

“My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding” franchise

, 4 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on TLC – Classic episodes of the series leading up to three new episodes of the “More Bling” spinoff starting at 8 p.m.

“Wives With Knives,” 6 p.m. through Monday morning on Investigation Discovery – The series recounts real stories of women who stabbed their significant others, some of them fatally.

“Storage Wars” franchise

, 6 p.m. through Monday morning on A&E – Episodes include auctions from the original and Texas series.

“Rachel vs. Guy Celebrity Cook-Off,” 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Food Network – Every episode of the current season leading up to a new show at 10 p.m.

“Betty White’s Off Their Rockers,” 7 to 9 p.m. on NBC – Four episodes featuring senior citizens playing pranks such as escaping from an ambulance and a man who reprimands people for walking too fast.

“The Proposal,” 8 and 10:30 p.m. on FX – Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds star in a romantic comedy about a book editor and her assistant traveling to Alaska.

“Downton Abbey,” 9 p.m. on PBS – A new episode of the “Masterpiece Classic” series finds Matthew and Robert falling out.

“Live From New York: The First 5 Years of ‘Saturday Night Live,’ ” 9 p.m. on NBC – A repeat of interviews that show the program’s beginnings and what happens behind the scenes.
