Arts update

NEW ALBUM: Spencer Kane, a 16-year-old from Kendallville, released his album today and will be touring starting Feb. 15. Tour information can be found at ishinelive.com/tour.

MOSAIC WORKSHOP: The Art Farm, 17612 N. County Line Road E., Spencerville, is having a two-day mosaic workshop from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Saturday’s workshop is how to adhere found materials to a wood base, and Sunday’s is how to grout the finished pieces. Cost is $110. To prepay, call 238-4755 or email art.farm@sbcglobal.net.

CALL FOR ARTISTS: The Honeywell Center, 275 W Market St., Wabash, is accepting artwork for its “92 County Art Show” from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday in the center’s Legacy Hall.

CLASSES:

•The Community Arts Academy through IPFW’s College of Visual and Performing Arts is having the theatre class Dramagination for students in kindergarten through third grade from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday through March 23. Cost is $59. It will also have a Youth Drama class, for grades 4 to 7, at the same time. Cost is $96. The Theatre Masters class, for grades 8 through 12, will be from 1:15 to 3:15 p.m. and is $134. •The Wassenberg Art Center, 643 S. Washington St., Van Wert, Ohio, will hold a Drawing on the Right art class from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Feb. 11, 18 and 25. LECTURE: Photographer Greg Gorman will present his work and career highlights as part of the University of Saint Francis’ Closer Look lecture series. The free event is at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the North Campus auditorium, 2701 Spring St.

OLD SHOW AIRED: The Allen County Public Library’s public access channel will air “Beyond Our Control” at 10 p.m. Thursdays, starting Thursday, on Comcast 57 and Frontier 27. The show originally aired in the mid-1970s in South Bend and was a cross between “Saturday Night Live” and “Monty Python.”

CRAFT DEMONSTRATION: Sauder Village, 22611 Ohio 2, Archbold, Ohio, is having Craft Saturdays from Saturday through March 23 where guests can view free craft demonstrations in the retail shops. Saturday’s demonstration, Velvet Art, will show how to make a bookmark.

DONATIONS: The Wassenberg Art Center, 643 S. Washington St., Van Wert, Ohio, has received a pottery wheel and clay extruder donation for the Art-fitter Campaign from Ralph Stuckman of Celina, Ohio. Charles Koch of Van Wert, Ohio, donated $1,000, and Cherry Fetzer of Delphos, Ohio, donated $1,500 in the name of the group Up to the Challenge.
