Giving back

•Fourth-graders in Rachel’s Club at St. Joseph-St. Elizabeth School in Fort Wayne helped make and deliver soup for patients at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home.

Advanced Hearing Technologies, 10437 Illinois Road, is a drop-off site for Operation Gratitude, in which care packages and donations can be sent to military soldiers. Wish-list items can be found at www.operationgratitude.com, or contributions can be made during business hours.

Ricker Oil Co. raised $27,500 for the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign.

•The Chamber Connection, part of the Leads Group Program at the Greater Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce, donated $200 to St. Mary’s Catholic Church’s Soup Kitchen.

•Fort Wayne-area Burger King restaurants raised $20,269 for the VFW Unmet Needs program, which provides emergency financial assistance to military families.

Maurices at Orchard Crossing, 1034 Thomas Road, Suite 101, is conducting a clothing drive through Feb. 9 to benefit Redemption House. Donations of dressy clothing, shoes and accessories can be dropped off during store hours.

Momper Insulation in Fort Wayne donated labor to apply foam insulation donated by Dow Chemical Co. to help build a green home for Habitat for Humanity at 5510 Buell Drive.

Spay/neuter program

The HOPE for Animals program, Snip-by-ZIP 46806, sponsored by PetSmart Charities, will offer transportation for pit bulls in the 46806 ZIP code. Each Sunday, between 4 and 6 p.m., dogs will be picked up at a location and then dropped off on Mondays to their owners at the same location. The cost is $5.
