Allison Giganti, 6, was fishing at Lake James last October on fall break. Her grandfather, Bob Schaab, cast in with a spinner bait. The bass hit quick and he handed the pole off to Allison. It was her first attempt at bringing in a fish. After the picture she completed the thrill by releasing the fish back into water.

Bryar Gearheart, 6, of Southern Wells killed this button buck on family property on opening day.
Carsten White, 12, of St. Joe shot his first buck during opening weekend of gun season. Carsten used a .44-caliber rifle while hunting at his uncle Gary’s farm in DeKalb County with his father and best friend Dirk.
Cassy Workman, 16, of Whitley County used a 20-gauge shotgun to bag a doe on a dead run in the first hour of opening morning.
