Irish reel in 5-star DT

Notre Dame's added a fourth five-star prospect Wednesday night to its already impressive recruiting class.

On the first day high school players could sign with colleges this year, defensive tackle Eddie Vanderdoes announced he would join the Irish's 2013 recruiting class. He made the decision public on MaxPreps.com.

Vanderdoes is a 6-foot-3, 303-pounder from California's Placer High School. He joines Bishop Luers linebacker Jaylon Smith, running back Greg Bryant and defensive back Max Redfield as Notre Dame's five-star recruits.

The Irish brought in 24 players on national signing day.
