A semi flipped at Exit 296A on southbound I-69 Thursday afternoon while trying to enter onto the highway.

Semi overturns on I-69 near GM

Update as issued at 12:44 p.m. Thursday by the Fort Wayne post of the Indiana State Police:

An overturned semi tractor trailer has slowed southbound traffic on I-69 at the south junction with I-469, near the GM plant. Emergency crews have cleared the right southbound lane and traffic is starting to move along, slowly but smoothly.

The left southbound lane will still be closed at this location for an unknown (length) of time as the trucking company makes arrangements to have a crew unload this trailer of its load of tractor parts and put it onto another trailer.

Motorists are asked to be observant for slowing or stopped traffic as well as emergency workers in and around the crash area. There were no injuries associated with this crash.
