Walters home but still weak

Barbara Walters isn’t “scratching too much” from chickenpox, but she says she won’t be back at “The View” for three more weeks.

Walters phoned in to the ABC talk show Wednesday. Calling from her home, she reported that she is weak but not in pain.

She was hospitalized Jan. 19 after fainting and cutting her head at a party in Washington, D.C. The 83-year-old has said she had the chickenpox and a temperature at the time but didn’t realize it. She suffered a concussion and got six stitches. She was released 10 days later.

Latifah, Netflix deal

Queen Latifah’s production company, Flavor Unit Entertainment, has signed a deal with Netflix.

The entertainer announced Tuesday that the multiyear deal gives the streaming service first look at titles from her production company. It starts this spring.

The company has produced films such as “Bringing Down the House” and “Just Wright,” both starring Latifah.

Flavor Unit is also producing the upcoming Terrence Howard thriller “House of Bodies” and “Percentage,” starring Ving Rhames and Macy Gray.

Bid for Broadway

Gloria Estefan and her husband, Emilio, are hoping the rhythm is going to lead to Broadway.

The duo on Tuesday announced that they’ve teamed up with the Nederlander Organization to try to create a musical based on their lives and take it to the Great White Way.

The Estefans were both born in Cuba and together became musical luminaries in Spanish and English, winning Grammy Awards and fans across the U.S.
