Ind. ex-officer accused of official misconduct

RUSHVILLE, Ind. (AP) — A former Rushville police officer who ran an anti-drug program in local schools has been charged with having an improper relationship with a 15-year-old girl.

The Rush County prosecutor filed charges of official misconduct and contributing to the delinquency of a minor Friday against Cale Worley. Worley resigned from the city police department in August. He had been the local Drug Abuse Resistance Education officer.

The Rushville Republican reports (http://bit.ly/WLOVQL ) the girl told investigators she and Worley exchanged text messages and met secretly to discuss her sex life.

Worley allegedly parked with the girl behind the local middle school about 1 a.m. March 28 while on duty and didn't tell dispatchers or her parents.

The Associated Press couldn't reach Worley for comment Saturday because his phone number was unlisted.
