The Indiana Toll Road is issuing a wind ban effective 7:00am EST until 9:00 pm EST, today, February 11, 2013
The National Weather Service has issued a HIGH WIND WARNING for ALL Counties across the Indiana Toll Road for this morning to exceed 45 mph.
In response to this advisory, the Indiana Toll Road is issuing a WIND BAN on all Triple and Long Double Combinations excluding low profile steel haulers. This WIND BAN is in effect from 7:00AM until 9:00PM EST on February 11, 2013.
This ban will be re-evaluated at 5:00PM EST today to determine if the ban needs to be extended past 9:00PM EST.
AS THIS EVENT UNFOLDS...TRAVEL IS EXPECTED TO BECOME INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT AND DANGEROUS.
A High Wind Warning is issued by the National Weather Service when sustained winds are forecast to be 30 to 39 mph or gusts will range between 45 and 57 mph. Winds of these magnitudes may cause minor property damage without extra precautions. Motorists in high profile vehicles should use caution until the winds subside.
