Irish in the polls

Notre Dame moved up four spots in The Associated Press men's Top 25 and jumped into the USA Today coaches poll Monday.

The Irish (19-5, 7-4 Big East) moved up from No. 25 to No. 21 in the AP poll, and they are No. 21 in the coaches poll.

Notre Dame won thrilling five-overtime game against Louisville on Saturday, beating the Cardinals 104-101. It was the longest regular-season game in Big East history.

The previous record for the conference in the regular season was a four-overtime game that happened 11 years ago and also involved Notre Dame. The Irish beat Georgetown 116-11 in 4 overtimes Feb. 9, 2002.

The Notre Dame women's team retained its No. 2 ranking in the AP Top 25.

The Irish (22-1, 10-0 Big East) did not receive a first-place vote. Baylor remained at No. 1, getting 37 first-place votes, and No. 3 Connecticut received three first-place votes.
