Tony Mitchell, the Mad Ants' 6-foot-6 forward, will compete in the slam dunk contest during the halftime of the NBA D-League All-Star Game on Saturday in Houston.
The All-Star Game, which will include Ants guard Ron Howard, begins at 3 p.m., and will be broadcast live on NBA TV.
Mitchell is averaging 18.2 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists for the Ants this season. His one-game season high is 32, against Canton on Feb. 4.
He will compete against Josh Owens of Idaho, Dar Tucker of Reno, and Glen Rice Jr. of Rio Grande Valley.
All four participants will be allowed two dunks in the first round. The two with the highest scores from a panel of judges will advance to the second round, where each will get two dunks.
