Allen Superior Court judge retires

Statement as issued Thursday by the Allen County commissioners:

The Honorable Judge Stephen M. Sims today announced his retirement, effective at close of business on Friday, April 26, 2013.

Judge Sims has served the citizens of Allen County since 1983 as the Prosecutor of Allen County (1983-1994), Hearing Officer/Magistrate of the Allen Circuit Court (1995-1996), and Judge of the Allen Superior Court – Family Relations Division (1997 to present).

Judge Sims has served on various boards at local, state, and national organizations throughout his public service career, including most recently those impacting children involved in delinquency and family matters.

“I want to expresses my heart-felt appreciation to my family, my colleagues on the Bench and at Bar, my staff at the Allen County Juvenile Center, and to the community at large, who I’ve been privileged to serve,” Judge Sims said.
