Three East Allen schools were on lockdown for about two hours Thursday as police searched for a suspect in a nearby woods.

Prince Chapman Academy, Southwick Elementary School and Paul Harding Junior High School were on lockdown from about 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., district spokeswoman Tamyra Kelly said.

Officers at the scene said authorities were looking for a suspect in the woods near Southwick Elementary.

Parents going to the school for an event were turned away because of the lockdown, Kelly said.
