Police say these three men robbed the PNC Bank on Coventry Lane on Thursday.

3 bandits hold up PNC, handcuff worker

PNC Bank officials are offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in Thursday morning’s armed robbery at the PNC Bank branch on Coventry Lane.

According to the Fort Wayne Police Department, three men armed with handguns robbed the bank at 5610 Coventry Lane and handcuffed one of the employees before fleeing about 9:15 a.m.

The three men, wearing hooded sweatshirts with their faces concealed, entered the bank and told employees to get on the floor, according to a police department statement. One employee was secured with handcuffs.

There were no customers inside the bank at the time of the robbery and no injuries were reported, police said.

The men fled through the back of the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police tried to track the robbers with a police dog through a residential area behind the bank, but the track ended in the 5100 block of Coventry Lane.

A complete description of the robbers was not available.

Several hours after the robbery, police released still images from bank surveillance videos, and PNC Bank announced a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the men.

The case is under investigation by the Northeast Indiana Bank Robbery Task Force.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Fort Wayne Police Department at 427-1222 or Crime Stoppers at 436-7867.

The same PNC Bank branch was robbed Dec. 12 by a man wearing a puffy winter coat and ski goggles.
