Late in a wacky second period at Memorial Coliseum, the Komets trail the Evansville IceMen 4-2.
The Komets were down 2-1 before they got a flurry of short-handed scoring opportunities. On one, Jean-Michel Rizk got a breakaway, missed the net and got what was pretty much a phantom penalty shot from referee Tom Chmielewski. Rizk's shoulder was touched, but barely.
Rizk missed on the penalty shot, then Chmielewski disregarded Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock getting hauled down behind the play and Kevin Baker scored for a 3-1 IceMen lead.
Brandon Marino's power-play goal got the Komets within one, but Dylan Clarke answered.
