Trade on horizon?

TOLEDO, Ohio -- After losing their fifth straight game -- this time it was 6-3 to the Toledo Walleye -- I'm hearing the Komets will be trying to pull the trigger on at least one trade, perhaps as early as Monday, if they can find a buyer.

I don't know who will be going, but I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Remember, it's easy to say a guy should be traded, but there has to be a market for him.

For example, I'm sure Brent Henley is a possibility, as he's been the odd man out among the five veterans the last two games. But that means the Komets would have to find a team that has an open veteran spot. Same goes for Tyler Butler or even Brett Smith.

And will a team be willing to give up a player that would actually help the Komets?

The players that will have the real value are the younger guys, the Brandon Marinos, Jean-Michel Rizks and Lincoln Kaleigh Schrocks, but are you willing to do that?

Remember, some of the guys are affiliated with Anaheim and Norfolk, so moving them isn't easy.

This is totally odd right now, because the Komets' problem isn't getting scoring chances but finishing on them. That's bad luck as much as anything, or a lack of determination. They have seven goals in their last five games.

Finally, check out the video recap of the game. If for nothing else, there's a Charlie Effinger save that will make it worth your time.
