New Cardinals coach likes Floyd

INDIANAPOLIS – Former Notre Dame receiver Michael Floyd got a nice endorsement from his new coach at the NFL combine Thursday.

Arizona coach Bruce Arians was asked what he thought of Floyd, who had 45 catches for 562 yards and two touchdowns as a rookie, and the former Colts offensive coordinator and interim coach for most of last season said he liked what he saw from the receiver.

"I think he's a bright young star," Arians said. "He's physical. He's active. He can make the tough catches. I liked him coming out, and to see him and Larry (Fitzgerald) across from each other … that's a nice group. That is one position I don't have to worry about."

Floyd left Notre Dame as the school's all-time leader in receptions (271), receiving yards (2,686), receiving touchdowns (37), receiving yards per game (85.7) and games with at least 100 receiving yards (17).
