Sleet, freezing rain greet drivers

FORT WAYNE – The National Weather Service in northern Indiana says much of the region will see sleet and freezing rain through the morning.

Temperatures are rising, but freezing weather is expected to continue through the morning commute hours. A number of schools in the region are on a two-hour delay.

A winter weather advisory, in effect until noon, has been issued for the following counties:

  • Indiana – La Porte, St. Joseph, Elkhart, Noble, Starke, Pulaski, Marshall, Fulton, Kosciusko, Whitley, Allen In, White, Cass In, Miami, Wabash, Huntington, Wells, Adams, Grant, Blackford and Jay.
  • Ohio – Van Wert, Williams, Fulton, Defiance, Henry, Paulding, Putnam and Allen.
Slick roads and sidewalks are being reported.
