A 23-year-old mother of two was killed Thursday morning in a single-vehicle crash in Adams County.
Alexandria Pharr of Decatur was on her way to work at the Ossian Meat Market when she lost control of her vehicle and crashed, said her father, Anthony Pharr.
Adams County officers said she was traveling west on County Road 900 North when she lost control west of County Road 550 West just after 6 a.m.
Pharrs vehicle rolled several times, police said, and she was thrown from the car. She died at the scene.
Anthony Pharr said Lexy was a dedicated mother of two young daughters – Aubree, who is almost 2 years old, and Braelynn, 5 months – and a great person.
She graduated from Bellmont High School, according to her father, who said that Mason Hammond, the father of her children, was also a graduate of Bellmont High School.
Anthony Pharr said his daughter had a third child, a son, who died at birth.
Once she lost her son, she dedicated her life to her children and other children, he said. ... She loved her family and was very close to her family and friends.
Pharr said most people who came into contact with his daughter instantly liked her and said she was easy to be around.
Pharr had a variety of interests including photography, poetry, softball, basketball and singing.
She is survived by her two daughters; her father; her brother, Tristan; her mother, Kristine Smedley; and two half-siblings, Jenessa and Isaiah Smedley.
