Cavaliers up big at halftime

CROWN POINT -- Canterbury is halfway to its fifth state finals appearance in six years.

The Cavaliers lead Lafayette Central Catholic 39-23 at halftime of the Class A semistate. They led by as many as 23 points -- 37-14, with 4:17 to play in the second quarter -- before Central Catholic finished the half with a 9-2 run.

Darby Maggard leads a balanced Canterbury attack with10 points. Kindell Fincher has nine, Bailey Farley eight and Aaliyah Gaines and Katherine Smith have six apiece.
