Would-be robber caught at Huntington drug store

A man was caught trying to rob a Huntington drugstore Sunday afternoon, according to a news release from Huntington police.

The man walked into the Walgreens at 1804 N. Jefferson St. and threatened pharmacy employees with some sort of weapon, police said.

Officers were dispatched to the store at 12:30 p.m., and when they arrived, the would-be robber was trying to leave with prescription medication, police said.

Officers, with help from people in the store, took the man to the ground and arrested him. No one was hurt, police said.

The man, identified as Daniel Lee Scott, 39, of Huntington, was booked into the Huntington County Jail on an initial charge of armed robbery. He was held without bail.
