Group releases history of civil rights video

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Civil Rights Commission has created a video depicting the history of civil rights in the state.

The video entitled “Indiana’s Road to Equality” examines the challenges that Hoosier minorities and women have faced over the decades. It includes interviews with lawmakers, community leaders and current and former Indiana Civil Rights Commission staff.

Commission Executive Director Jamal Smith says it’s important that the issues of segregation and widespread discrimination aren’t forgotten.
