Rachel Mauk athlete of week

It was expected that Frank Gaines, after setting the all-time scoring record in IPFW men's basketball history, would be named the school's male athlete of the week.

It was a surprise that Rachel Mauk would get the women's honor.

Rachel, a 5-foot-10 junior and identical twin sister of Stefanie, scored a career-high 22 points in IPFW's win at Oakland. She was 8 of 13 from the floor and 5 of 9 from three-point range.

The 22 also gives her a little bragging rights between the siblings. Stefanie has had 20 points twice this season - against Rochester and South Dakota State.

The IPFW women's team ends its regular season this week with two games on the road. It will play at Western Illinois on Thursday, and at IUPUI on Saturday.
