Barbara Walters says she’s returning to “The View” on Monday.

She’s been sidelined for several weeks. But now she’s “had enough rest and it’s time to come back,” Walters reported by phone during Tuesday’s edition of the ABC talk show.

Walters was hospitalized Jan. 19 after fainting and cutting her head at a party in Washington. The 83-year-old said she had chickenpox and a fever at the time but didn’t realize it.

Funeral for singer

Family and friends have gathered for the funeral of country music star Mindy McCready in her Florida hometown.

About 200 were present Tuesday at the Crossroads Baptist Church. McCready’s music played in the background and her image was shown on a large screen behind the altar.

McCready committed suicide Feb. 17 at her home in Arkansas.

Lohan to visit kids

Lindsay Lohan’s attorney has suggested to prosecutors that the actress serve as a motivational speaker and perform non-jail activities to resolve her latest criminal case, according to a letter obtained Tuesday.

The letter from lawyer Mark Heller proposed several alternatives for Lohan, who could be sent to jail if a judge determines her actions in a traffic crash violated terms of her probation in a previous theft case.

The actress plans to spend time recording public service announcements and make “periodic visits to schools, hospitals, and other venues where she may provide inspirational talks, encouraging children to pursue positive goals and avoid bad habits,” states the letter.

Lohan’s latest case returns to court on Friday.
