March toward spring

As always, I am amazed by how time flies. It is already March, which seems impossible. Wasn’t Christmas about a week ago?

With this month, we typically see the first signs of our weather really turning. Less snow, warmer air, and a bigger risk of thunderstorms are the normal things March will bring us.

Of course, last year our March was anything but normal. It was the warmest March ever seen in Fort Wayne. All signs point to a more “normal” March this year, but since the “normal” March is highly volatile, just about anything is possible over these next four weeks.

WEATHER WISE: The old saying goes “March comes in like a lion, and goes out like a lamb.” This year, March has been pretty lamblike in its entrance. Yes, these first few days have been chilly, but we’ve seen calm conditions and even some sunshine.
