For the Komets to have any chance whatsoever of making the playoffs, they have to sweep Florida this weekend and win in regulation. Bottom line...

Winning in regulation the rest of the way is mandatory! They cannot keep giving teams they are chasing any points. None.

Which Henley do we see this weekend? A motivated Henley, or the Henley we got for most of the this season??? Will be interesting to see which one shows up....

Must sweep, or we are done, pure and simple. I don't care about mathematically. The playoffs start Friday and they better be prepared mentally and physically for the long haul. And if there was ever a time for scoring and defense to show up, this is it. Maybe they have been saving it up all season, but it's now or never. Time to show up and put the pedal to the metal. I have no doubt that these guys are capable of doing it,... and the time is NOW

K's don't score because the D is so weak the forwards are busy helping out. If they don't fix the D, the scoring will suffer.

Hopeful, but not optimistic.

They have to score and I agree with WRSL, but they should have 6 D guys you can trust now and a great goalie. It's time to tell them they are responsible for the blue line on in and turn the forwards loose. Nothing tells us that this will work, but it's time to do something different. Or, everyone plays defense and we try to win 1-0. If we know Sims, he will do what has worked in the past (before this year)and try to win a 2-1 game played in the trenches. Alot of guys have made some preety bold predictions and it's time to put up or shut up. It would sure be nice if a couple people showed up this weekend and played like they were expected to this year. It should have a playoff feel...hopefully, it's NOT the closest to that feeling we get this year. I want to believe, but........ Go K's!

Oh yea Justin... if you have to have OT...play the 4 on 4 extra 5 min, that's exciting. Trash the shoot out, it's not hockey. Winner takes all the points a tie splits the 2 pts. I can live with a tie just not a game with no hitting!

Clean the ice, play 4 on 4 until somebody wins, winner take all.

Mightbite would prefer bench brawls until last man standing

Apparently I am missing something. We are a 500 hockey club to date. What makes fans realistically believe that will change over the last twelve games of the season?

what makes anyone believe it will change? Because as a fan of a sports team that is all you have.. Hope and Belief. As a fan you keep supporting your team until all chances are lost. If you already lost hope, maybe time to close the forums and look to your next sporting event for entertainment?

With that said I think the Komets chances are slim. I "hope" they find a way to accomplish it. I think anything is possible. I truly believe they play below their potential, and putting together an epic win streak is certainly attainable.

Bigger question does Franke have the ability to make some critical moves prior to the trade deadline? Hoping and wishing is one thing, making moves shows the "fans" no stones are being left unturned.

Hit, you will be hard pressed to find anyone more down on this team from the start of the season than I have been. Some have even accused me of not being a "real" fan...whatever that means. Here is my hope......
Although this has been a historically bad home team it has been a fairly good road team. We currently have an NHL goaltender that may be the best in the league. We recently got some "D" help from above. IF (and I agree, it's a huge if) we can somehow get to the playoffs and not have anyone called up and get a couple forwards from Norfolk, then anything is possible. I agree, the odds of all that happening considering the way things have gone so far this year are slim to none, but it's a nice thought. There are 8 more home games and it would sure be alot more fun if they were meaninful and that starts Friday night. Loose both this weekend and the season's over, Simms needs to go along with all but 2 or 3 players on this team.

Sorry for the spelling...lose, not loose. Where's spell check when you need it?

Kings were 8th seeded and won it all. New Jersey was the 6th seed. Both teams had great 3rd lines,... and they were physical.
We just need to get to the dance. It's time for some hard nose hockey

Justin Hodgman the stretch run and playoff super star just lost game 7 in the Russia KHL last night. Get him back over here and start the magical run again.

Komets123:
The key word in my post was realistic. While we all would like to see the K's make the playoffs, their record to date suggests otherwise.

I am aware of the "key words" and main idea of your question above. My answer is the post just below yours.

I will assume you can understand key words and the main ideas of my posts. If not simply express your misunderstanding, and I would be happy to clarify.

In meantime, hopefully Komets can pull it all together down the stretch here, otherwise golf starts early!

Not trying to be sarcastic really. My posts are only in response to yours.. I see that is a bad idea however. Obviously you wish to argue, so will leave you to it. Good luck with that

Realistically we seem to be running out of time to put together an "epic win streak". I wasnt able to make the game last night. Did we look like a team that could go on a winning streak?
