Trine University renovating performing arts center

ANGOLA – A northeastern Indiana university is renovating its performing arts center in Angola to create a venue for large-scale concerts and events.

Trine University says the $6 million renovation to the T. Furth Center for Performing Arts is expected to be completed in December.

Donations are funding the renovation as well as a 3,300 -square-foot addition to the building. The university wants to create more opportunities for art appreciation in northeast Indiana.

The historic building was formerly the Angola Christian Church.

The 750-seat concert hall will feature gold detailing, marble statuary, paintings chandeliers and balconies. The addition to the building will provide space for a rehearsal hall, practice rooms, studios offices and a music library.
