One more time: Cheerleading is not a sport

OK, first of all, before pompon-wielding young men and women attack me with lethal volleys of "two-bits" ...

I have nothing against cheerleaders. Nothing. Against. Cheerleaders.

They're athletic, they're physically skilled, they do a lot of the same things gymnasts do.

But I agree with the judge here. Cheerleading isn't a sport.

It's a competition, sure, and it involves a certain level of physical dexterity. But so do dance competitions. And dance is not a sport, either.

So no way should Quinnipiac University get to replace women's volleyball -- an actual, bonafide sport -- with cheerleading and say it's square with Title IX. No way, no how.

Sorry.
