The Komets have aligned with the NHL's Colorado Avalanche and their American Hockey League team, the Lake Erie Monsters.
  • This is sad news
Former Komets star Joe Kastelic, who once owned the record for most goals scored in the IHL, died Wednesday at 81. He skated for the Komets from 1953 to 1957 and then again in 1960-61.
  • Major signings for Komets
The Komets bolstered their roster with a potential No. 1 goaltender, a former first-round NHL draft pick, a familiar face and player who should be popular with the fans.

It's a hot mess

The Komets have given up three power-play goals and trail the Florida Everblades 4-0 after two periods at Memorial Coliseum.

The fans are booing.

And the Fort Wayne power play is so awful right now, I have trouble even describing it. Scott Kishel just had two open guys at the point, but rather than drop a pass back for an open shot, he skates it into the corner, where there are two defenders to pin him against the boards, and he turns it over.

That's what it's been like tonight, in all phases of the game.
