Giving back

Heritage Park in Fort Wayne will donate 100 smoke detectors Tuesday to the New Haven Fire Department, which will then distribute them to the public.

•The Office of Alumni Relations at IPFW, as well as alumni associations at University of Saint Francis, Huntington University, Ivy Tech Community College Northeast, Manchester University, Trine University and Indiana Tech through the Northeast Indiana Alumni Directors Consortium, is hoping to collect 1,500 Easter baskets to donate to SCAN for distribution to clients. Baskets can be dropped off at the Kettler Hall information desk, the Walb Student Union information desk or at the Alumni Center at IPFW by March 25. Fundraisers

•The MDA Benefit Quarter Auction will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Wayne Center Elementary in Kendallville. Tickets are $4 in advance and $6 at the door. For information, call 260-242-2771.

•The St. Patrick’s Day Celebration bake sale of corned beef and cabbage will be at 11 a.m. March 16 at American Legion Post 296, 130 W. Tillman Road. Irish music will be from 3 to 6 p.m.
