And Another Thing

In this cell phone image taken March 8 and provided by golfmanna.com, Hank Martinez, top, Ed Magaletta, right, and Russ Nobbe, look into an 18-foot-deep and 10-foot- wide sinkhole that golfer Mark Minhal fell into while playing golf at the Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo, Ill.

That sinking feeling

Now this is what you call an unplayable lie.

As if golf courses weren't dangerous enough places, being littered as they are by the Killer Banana Slice, the Snap Hook Of Doom and the dreaded Death By Four-Putt. Can't imagine sizing up a tee ball striped down the fairway one second, and looking up from 18 feet below the earth the next. Not this poor guy's best day on the golf course, obviously.

Although he'll likely enhance the contents of his golf bag from here on out.

Driver, check. Wedge, check. Putter, check. Rope ladder and miner's helmet ... check.
