Crashes snarl I-469 near Maplecrest

FORT WAYNE – Four semis and six passenger cars were involved in crashes on northbound Interstate 469 Wednesday morning.

As of 9:45 a.m., the Indiana Department of Transportation reported that all northbound lanes of I-469 were blocked in the area of Exit 29 at Maplecrest Road.

The Indiana State Police said that a crash involving a semi had closed I-469 at Maplecrest.

The state police issued a notice at 10:15 a.m. encouraging drivers to find alternate routes and to be on the lookout for slippery road conditions.

Traffic began moving again about 10:45 a.m., police on the scene said.

No serious injuries have been reported.
