You know the worst part about Selection Sunday?
(Other than the fact that it leads directly to Analysis-Until-Your-Head-Explodes Monday, that is).
The worst part is having to make my official newspaper picks, like, five minutes after the brackets come out.
It leaves no time for reflection, analysis, second-guessing or third-guessing. Which is good, in a way -- usually your gut reaction is your truest -- but also bad in a way.
And, so upon further consideration, I'm going public here on the Blob to say I'm not totally sold on some of my picks. Indiana, for instance, was strictly a homer pick; I really think, upon further review, that Miami's gonna get the Hoosiers in the Elite Eight.
I also think I might have oversold Kansas; upon further review, I could definitely see Georgetown, Michigan or VCU knocking out the Jayhawks, even though I like the blend KU has with a dominant 7-footer, a couple of lights-out freshmen and so solid veterans.
Sooo ... I'm gonna say Miami meets Louisville in the title game. And Louisville wins.
Stay tuned for further revisions.
