‘CSI’ gets 14th season

Lead actor Ted Danson has signed a contract extension with “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” and the series will return next fall for a 14th season, CBS announced Wednesday.

The rest of the cast, including the five original members still with the series, are slated to return.

HBO cancels ‘Enlightened’

HBO says the Laura Dern series “Enlightened” isn’t coming back for a third season.

In a statement Tuesday, the premium cable channel said it was proud of the show, and called canceling it a “very difficult decision.”

Last year, Dern won a Golden Globe for best TV comedy actress for her role as a manic-depressive who becomes an activist.

Brooks, Strait to team up at ACMs

Garth Brooks and George Strait will perform together for the first time at next month’s Academy of Country Music Awards to honor Dick Clark.

ACM’s artist of the decade award will be renamed for Clark, the longtime producer of the ACM Awards who passed away last year.
