Berne city offices to close on Good Friday

The city of Berne announced Thursday that city offices will be closed March 29 in observance of Good Friday.

It said Thursday and Friday's trash routes will be picked up on Thursday, March 28. Residents are asked to place items curbside by 7 a.m. that day.

To report a Water Leak or other non- life threatening emergency after office hours or when city offices are closed, residents are advised to call the Berne Police Department, 1160 W. Main St., at 589-2169 and report the situation.

If there is no answer, the city says to call 911 and tell the dispatcher that it is not an urgent emergency, but you would like an officer to check. The officer will contact the appropriate department, if necessary.

For all other emergencies, the city says to call the Adams County Sheriff's Department at 911 or 260-724-5345.

Government agencies that are closing for Good Friday or other Easter-related days may announce closings by emailing jgnews@jg.net.
