SUV driver killed in rollover wreck

– A woman was killed Wednesday in a single-vehicle crash on Washington Center Road after being thrown from the sport utility vehicle she was driving, police said.

Emergency workers responded to a crash about 3:40 p.m. near the intersection of Washington Center and Flaugh Road, the Allen County Sheriff’s Department said.

The dark-colored SUV had left the north side of the road and rolled, ejecting the woman, police said.

The woman, who was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash, was not identified Wednesday.

Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash, police said.

The crash remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.

East- and westbound lanes of Washington Center Road between Flaugh and O’Day roads were closed for several hours Wednesday.
