Knives brought to school with plans to ‘take over’

BARBERTON, Ohio – Authorities in northeast Ohio say there was no imminent threat when a boy brought two knives to school in a backpack.

Police say the 15-year-old told officers and school administrators he planned to “take over” and “do harm” at the school at some point in the future.

He has been charged with bringing a weapon onto school property, inciting violence, aggravated riot and inducing panic.

Two other juveniles and an 18-year-old face criminal charges following the incident Tuesday at Barberton High School near Akron.
