Ariana Simmons named to Indiana All-Star team

South Side coach Goodwell to assistant on Indiana bench

Ariana Simmons of South Side has been named to the IndyStar.com Indiana Girls All-Stars team, the Indianapolis Star announced today.

Juanita Goodwell, her high-school coach, has been named to assist Mark Hurt of Mooresville on the Indiana bench, the Star said in a statement.

Fourteen players were named to the team, led by Miss Basketball Stephanie Mavunga of Brownsburg, the Star said.

The All-Stars will face Kentucky on June 14 at Freedom Hall in Louisville and on June 15 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. They will play exhibitions against the Indiana Junior All-Stars on June 10 and 12 at sites to be determined.
