Half of East Regional final set

WASHINGTON – One part of the NCAA tournament East Regional final is set.

No. 3 seed Marquette advanced to Saturday's Elite Eight game with a 71-61 win over No. 2 seed Miami (29-7) in the Sweet 16 on Thursday in the Verizon Center.

No. 1 seed Indiana (29-6) takes on No. 4 seed Syracuse (27-9) in the night game at the Verizon Center.

If the Hoosiers knock off the Orange, coach Tom Crean will be going against the program he left to come to Indiana. Crean guided the Golden Eagles (26-8) for nine seasons and led Marquette to the Final Four in 2005.

Current Marquette coach Buzz Williams was an Eagles' assistant coach in Crean's final season with the program.
