Raid nets meth, guns, woman’s arrest

A Fort Wayne woman was arrested Wednesday on methamphetamine and child neglect charges.

Jodi Shawver, 31, is charged with possession of methamphetamine, manufacturing meth, possession of meth precursors, illegal dumping of controlled waste and maintaining a common nuisance. She also faces a felony child neglect charge.

Fort Wayne police detectives obtained a search warrant for Shawver’s home at 14406 Yellow River Road after discovering that she and a man who lives there had both been blocked from buying pseudoephedrine because of the large amount of the drug they had been buying, police said.

Shawver was being held without bail.

The Department of Child Services took custody of two teenagers inside the home, police said.

During the search, police also removed 12 long guns and one handgun from the home.
