Toledo police recapture suspect after hospital escape

TOLEDO – Toledo police recaptured a man about 10 minutes after he escaped from a hospital following his arrest in connection with an October killing.

The Toledo Blade reports that 23-year-old Jonathon Johnson was taken to the hospital shortly after his Friday arrest because he was complaining of illness.

Police say he fled the hospital around 1 p.m. Friday, but was found and re-arrested 10 minutes later.

Johnson is accused of fatally shooting 22-year-old Jonathan Morris Jr., on Oct. 5

Police say that just before his first arrest Friday, Jonathan Johnson fled his mother's house by jumping from a second-floor window. He was found soon after hiding in a dog house.

Two other men also face charges in Morris' death.
