Police and fire

Shooting survivor, 19, is ID'd

A Fort Wayne man shot and critically wounded Saturday afternoon near Weisser Park has been identified.

The Fort Wayne Police Department said Monday that Marcus Q. Bibbs, 19, was shot in the 3300 block of South Hanna Street.

He was transported him to a local hospital in critical condition.

Investigators believe the victim was walking on a sidewalk when an armed man wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt ran from between houses and started firing.

This is the second time Bibbs has been shot. Fort Wayne police confirmed Monday that he was shot in the summer of 2012 at Eden Green Apartments.

Police at the time said at least 12 shots were fired and that two teens were struck by bullets.
