Well, that didn't take long.
Four days after the darlings of the NCAA tournament, the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles, were bounced from the Dance, USC has money-whipped FGCU coach Andy Enfield into coming to L.A.
I love this move, frankly. I love that USC, seeing that crosstown rival UCLA just hired Steve Alford to bring his disciplined style from New Mexico, has thrown in its chips with the mayor of Dunk City. FGCU's free-wheeling style was more fun than a sundae bar, the most enjoyable watch in Da Tournament; now, presumably, USC will be, too. And as such, it will have it all over UCLA in terms of entertainment value.
And in a city built on entertainment, that's no small thing.
